Dr. Akis Ntonos, DNP

DNP, FNP, NECO

 is a dual-doctorate clinician, aesthetic expert, and co-founder of Aion Aesthetics—New York’s premier boutique injectables clinic. Known for his precise technique and naturally elegant results, he has been recognized as a Top Aesthetic Injector for three consecutive years and has served as part of the Allergan Medical Advisory Board, contributing to clinical insight, product development, and national injector training initiatives.

Dr. Akis has treated thousands of patients, including Broadway actors, Grammy Award-winning musicians, Ford and Wilhelmina models, Cormac Murphy (Mister USA 2024), Abigail Quammen (Miss New York 2024), R’Bonney Nola (Miss Universe 2022), Taryn Delanie Smith (Miss New York 2022), and Cassie Donegan (Miss America 2026). His reputation has been featured in leading media outlets such as VOGUE, The CUT, NPR, People Magazine, and more.

A former competitive fencer, Dr. Akis brings the same discipline, focus, and precision from the sport into his aesthetic practice—making calculated moves with intention. He combines deep anatomical knowledge with artistic intuition to create enhancements that are truly individualized and authentic to each person’s natural beauty.

Raised in Florina, a small city in northern Greece, Dr. Akis originally moved to the United States on a scholarship to pursue acting. After completing his program, he felt something was still missing. Years of personal sports injuries and experience with elite-level fencing inspired a fascination with the body’s natural healing processes—ultimately guiding him toward a path in healthcare.

This journey began with a degree in sports science and led to a doctorate in Traditional Naturopathic Medicine. As he explored the rapidly evolving field of aesthetic medicine, he found the perfect intersection of science, art, and purpose. Along the way, he trained in aesthetics both in the U.S. and Europe, learning from some of the industry’s most respected professionals.

Dr. Akis holds two bachelor’s degrees, including a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Phillips School of Nursing at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York, and a master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner from Pace University. He also earned a Post-Master’s Certificate in Nursing Education (NECO) and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Johns Hopkins University—the world’s top-ranked nursing program.

In 2021, Aion Aesthetics received the designation of “Best Medical Spa on the East Coast” at the Aesthetic Everything Awards. The clinic continues to lead with a commitment to long-term cosmetic vitality, offering one of the most advanced suites of services in the country—including ultrasound-guided imaging, regenerative medicine, and injectable treatments rooted in evidence-based care.

Anastasios (Taso) Mikroulis

Clinic Director/Director of Sales

Taso Mikroulis is the heart of Aion’s client experience. With over a decade of expertise in customer care and sales, he brings a rare combination of professionalism, empathy, and results-driven focus. Since 2012, he’s built a reputation for making people feel seen, heard, and genuinely cared for—values that are core to Aion’s mission.

As Director of Operations, Taso oversees every step of the client journey, ensuring that every consultation, appointment, and follow-up runs smoothly. His approachable nature and sharp eye for detail make him the go-to contact for both new and returning clients who expect a seamless, elevated experience.

Beyond aesthetics, Taso is also deeply committed to wellness. He’s helped hundreds of clients reach their goals as a certified weight-loss coach since 2014, running one of New York’s top Ideal Protein programs. His practical, supportive approach has earned him loyal clients and meaningful transformations.

Outside the clinic, Taso’s creativity shines through his work as a filmmaker and actor, bringing storytelling and emotional intelligence to everything he does.

Marianna Fokas

Clinic Manager

Before joining Aion, Marianna spent over 15 years managing her family’s restaurant, mastering the art of service, connection, and attention to detail. She also studied graphic design and worked professionally in the field, adding a creative eye and a thoughtful aesthetic sensibility to her role at the clinic. Her transition into aesthetics came from a true passion for beauty and helping people feel their best.

Often the first friendly face clients meet, Marianna guides each person through their Aion journey with care, enthusiasm, and a warm sense of ease. Outside of the clinic, she continues to nurture her creative side while pursuing her degree in jewelry design and gemology—a personal passion that mirrors her love for artistry and craftsmanship.
